Lucy Edwards Becomes First Blind Person to Walk CPFW

Content Creator and Disability Advocate, Lucy Edwards, made history by becoming the first blind person to walk Copenhagen Fashion Week a few days ago. The Sinéad O’Dwyer show that she walked also invited showgoers with visual impairments to experience a tactile tour of the collection, and included recording audio descriptions for each look!

An amazing example of a fashion show that wants to get everyone involved and represent what society looks like.

TikTok Updates Alcohol Advertising Policy

The platform has updated its advertising policy this month, with the goal to protect users. Some of the restrictions added include targeting only users of legal drinking age, not featuring young people or promoting irresponsible drinking, and requiring responsible drinking messages. This is especially important to keep in mind for influencer partnerships.

Instagram Updates Metrics to Focus Creators on Views

Instagram recently announced that ‘views’ is becoming the primary metric across reels, carousels, photos, lives and stories. This will hopefully ensure users to better understand how the content is performing and develop better strategies. This follows a series of platform changes to prioritise different metrics, in order to shift the focus off of follower counts.

Chris McCausland Becomes First Blind Contestant on Strictly Come Dancing

The comedian has become the first blind contestant to participate in the dancing competition. McCausland joked about him joining the show by saying “I don’t dance, I haven’t danced, I can’t dance, I can’t see the dancing I will have to do. What can possibly go wrong?”. He will also be joined by influencer Tasha Ghouri.

TikTok Adds Group Chats and Stickers in DMs

Following Instagram’s focus on DMs, TikTok is rolling out a series of new messaging updates. The features include a new sticker management platform, that will allow you to create and share your own stickers (we will be sending purple goat stickers right, front and centre), and new group chats with up to 32 participants.

Campaign Spotlight: Malibu x Tom Daley

Olympic swimmer, Tom Daley, stars in Malibu’s “Don’t Drink and Dive” campaign, promoting responsible drinking by highlighting the dangers of combining alcohol with diving.

The ad features Daley in a synchronised swimming routine, reinforcing the message that while summer fun and cocktails go hand-in-hand, safety must come first. We love this campaign because it creatively merges humour with an important safety reminder.
