Google Celebrates Lizzie Emeh
On October 9, Google’s doodle celebrated award-winning Irish, Nigerian, British musician and songwriter, Lizzie Emeh. Emeh was the first solo artist in the UK with a learning disability to release an album of original songs. Lizzie’s sister shared some words about her for this recognition, saying ‘She believed in working hard and always doing your best. Lizzie was loud, proud, positive, happy and joyful! We miss her’.
Wheelchair Spaces in Aircraft to be Approved in 2025
Last week, Rights on Flights shared the amazing news that wheelchair spaces in the aircraft cabin area are set to become a reality in 2025, as the FAA anticipates signing it off in the next year. Sophie Morgan said “This is the moment we have all been waiting for. The future is here, the future is accessible. Now we call on all airlines to adopt this invocation and change the world for wheelchair users”.

The social media app has created a hub available for professional accounts, where they will be sharing tips on how users should be posting on the platform. Some of them are generic strategies, but others are more specific to each account. Vogue’s New Size Inclusivity Report
With fashion week season finished, Vogue has done some research on how size inclusive the shows were this year. As you could have guessed, they weren’t good. Across New York, Paris, London and Milan, 0.8% of the models were plus-size, 4.3% were mid-size, and 94.9% were straight-size (US 0-4). To these stats we need to add the fact that only 0.02% of fashion campaigns include Disabled models, showcasing the clear need for better inclusion across the industry.
