October was Breast Cancer Awareness, and for their latest bra campaign, Kim Kardashian’s brand, Skims, featured Olivia Munn, a breast cancer survivor. Munn shared her story and empowered women to get tested. An amazing initiative from Skims!

Reels Performance Tips 

Instagram is currently testing a new feature to show notes on your Reels with tips on why the video is performing well on the app. This could be useful for creators, but other users might not care as much about this additional data, taking up another area of screen space, which could also make the setup a bit overwhelming.

YouTube Shares Insights Into What Viewers are Seeking

If you’re a youtube creator or work on the video platform, this is really exciting news! YouTube has released a report with in depth insights as to what type of content viewers want to watch. For example, it shows that viewers want high quality content, but more in terms of emotional resonance rather than special effects.

Gymshark Opens ‘Twists ‘n’ Sets’ Hair Styling Pop-Up

To celebrate Black History Month, Gymshark opened a hair styling pop-up in London. Attendees were able to book free 1-2-1 hair appointments, buy hair products from black owned brands, as well as purchase Gymshark’s ‘Diffuse Sweat Headband’, designed with the Black community and all hair types in mind.

Instagram Recommends Posting Carousels

Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, shared some advice for users, recommending to post carousels on the app to increase reach. With the option to add up to 20 images, as well as music, carousels are a great way to improve engagement and reach on your account. Furthermore, if your carousel has music added on, it will now also appear in the Reels tab.
